When you create a supplier or user account, we collect personal identification information, such as your name, your email address, your postal address and your phone number.

Use of your personal information

The data we collect about you via our web site is used to populate the publicly searchable supplier directory.

We can also use your personal identification information to inform you of critical service announcements which may affect ongoing services we are supplying to you.

We employ other companies on our behalf. Examples include processing credit card payments. In the terminology used by the Data Protection Act, these companies are termed third party Data Controllers. They have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for other purposes. In accordance with the Act, we reveal the identity of these Data Controllers as PayPal (who perform credit card processing) .

We have no knowledge of your bank details or your credit card details when you pay for goods and services on-line by credit, debit or charge card. All on-line card payment transactions are handled by the third party company mentioned in the previous paragraph, and we never see your bank/card details. We do, however, pass some of your personal details to the credit-card processing company's transaction processing system via secure encrypted means when you pay by card, for the purpose of authorising card transactions. Retention of your personal records

We will not keep your personal information for longer than is necessary. Our policy is to keep your account information on file for as long as we are still supplying ongoing services to you, and also (so that we can provide after sales support) for a period of 18-months after your most recent purchase from us (product or service). Some information necessary strictly for accounting/ledger-keeping purposes will be kept for longer (The UK Inland Revenue requires us to keep accounting and tax records for at least five years).
